Tiffanie Ting was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. She received her B.A. in art history and psychology from the University of Toronto, and her Ed.M in arts and museum education from Harvard University, where she is currently earning her doctorate degree in education. Her research focuses on artists and museums as catalysts for community development. She is particularly interested in issues of access, diversity, identity, and learning in museum contexts.

Prior to beginning her doctoral work, Tiffanie was an Education Fellow at the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park in Lincoln, MA and Museum Educator at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston.  She was also Director of Public Programs and Education at the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery in Kitchener, Ontario. There she oversaw the growth and development of learning-centered interpretive programs, and a community arts initiative called Arts Access in partnership with the Art Gallery of Ontario, Thunder Bay Art Gallery, and Woodland Cultural Center.

At Harvard, Tiffanie has served as a graduate-level teaching fellow for courses in the Arts in Education; Museums and Learning; The Sociology of Education; and Excellence, Ethics, and Engagement in the Professions. Additionally, Tiffanie has received a number of academic honors, grants, and funded fellowships. She was named a Harvard Art Museum Instructional Technology Fellow (2009-2010), and a Canada Research Fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs (2008 – 2012).

Tiffanie currently lives in Cambridge, MA. Her most recent solo exhibition, Wish you were here, was the inaugural show March 5 – April 30, 2012 in the newly renovated Monroe C. Gutman Library at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She also participated in her first group exhibition Fresh Faces at Newzones gallery of contemporary Canadian art in Calgary, AB from July 7 – August 25, 2012.
