HWC HAPPENINGS
June 14, 2000The MIT Flea Market is this coming Sunday, and HWC welcomes your help. Your presence on June 18 translates directly into financial support for Harvard Wireless Club.
April 29, 2000The May 2000 issue of Boston Magazine carries an amusing piece on HWC Faculty Advisor Paul Horowitz, W1HFA in "2 Minutes With A Space Cop: E.T. phone Harvard Professor Paul Horowitz. Please." The Q and A interview asks Paul about his work with S.E.T.I. It features a photo of a very young W1HFA pounding brass at a vintage ham station, as well as a present-day photo. Incidently, both pictures can be seen on Paul's web site at http://mc.harvard.edu/seti/paulh.html.
April 20, 2000Congratulations to HWC members David Allred, N1EXQ and Nick Akers, KC6TAH. David and Nick both upgraded at the 4/19 MIT VE session to Extra and General, respectively. Nick points out that license restructuring has made upgrading "substantially less onerous". He encourages other HWC members to join in.
April 14, 2000The MIT Flea Market is only days away, and HWC needs your help. Three- to six hours of your time on Sunday, April 16 will mean financial support for Harvard Wireless. Contact N1EXQ at allred@photoninc.com if you can assist.
March 4, 2000 HWC member N1EXQ busts the pileup to work the rare FO0AAA Clipperton Island 2000 DXpedition station.

January 5, 2000The ARRL Teachers bulletin carried kudos for HWC and its website in the January, 2000 issue: "Most youths want to be older. If you'd like for your students to check out a university role model, have them visit the Web site of the Harvard Wireless Club at http://www.hcs.harvard.edu/~w1af/. They'll see photos of students at the radios and various station set-ups, plus they'll learn about club activities at the university level."
September 24, 1999The ARRL Letter includes the article, Harvard's W1AF: 90 Years and Still Going Strong.
August 14, 1999A recent meeting of HWC contesters brought together alums (L-R): K3UOC, K1VR, and special guest W3EF/G0UHK, visiting from the U.K.
