The Fundraising Committee is responsible for raising money to support the events and activities of the WIB organization through long-term partnerships with company sponsors. The Fundraising Committee comprises three sub-committees, each of which represents one of the channels WIB employs for fundraising. The Corporate Donor sub-committee works to raise money by establishing sponsor relationships with a variety of large corporations in the finance and management fields.
The inaugural year of the private donor campaign in 2003 marked the creation of the Private Donor sub-committee, which works to make contacts with private institutions and philanthropic individuals. The third sub-committee, the Corporate Outreach sub-committee, seeks to extend WIB's corporate relationships beyond a sponsorship level to a more significant and interactive level in which top company executives are invited to come and speak with members. Corporate Outreach's main focus is WIB's spring trip to New York City in which members are invited to visit the offices of many of WIB's corporate partners.
Although the Fundraising Committee consists of three independent sub-committees, there is significant collaboration among members and the committee is a great opportunity for associates to work closely with their peers and to develop professional networking skills so crucial to the fundraising process. |
