MENTORSHIP COMMITTEE
Chair: Stacey Borden, Members: Kimberly Cheng, Lizzie Coston, Whitney Petersmeyer

The Mentorship Committee is in charge of WIB's mentoring program, an initiative begun in 2001 that has recently undergone a drastic expansion. Initally conceived simply as a One-On-One Mentoring Program that would facilitate the interaction between women at Harvard interested in business by matching freshmen and sophomores with upperclass women in their field of interest. In addition, members can attend co-mentoring events with the Women's Student Association of Harvard Business School.

In addition, in 2004, WIB embarked on a Corporate Mentorship Program with Microsoft's marketing department, Morgan Stanley, and established the Harvard College branch of Broad2Be, a partnership with 85 Broads, the women's networking association of Goldman
Sachs.  This partnership allows WIB members to join an online network of over 4,200 women from Goldman Sachs, the nation's top business schools, and top undergraduate institutions.  In this way, first- and second-year students can learn about different career paths, internship options, academic concentrations, and other important information to help them better make use of the resources at Harvard, while upperclassmen benefit from the expertise of women already participating in their chosen career fields or who have taken the decisive step of returning to school to pursue a business degree.

Mentees in all programs have the opportunity to meet one another and their mentors through one-on-one experiences and group social events in which all profit from shared experiences and become part of a close-knit social group.
