As President of Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business, Karin C. Shieh oversees an 8-member executive board and their six committees. Prior to this position, Ms. Shieh served as Chair of the WIB Fundraising Committee in 2003 and Subcommittee Chair of the Comp in 2002. A dedicated WIB member since her freshman year when she joined as Online Chair, Ms. Shieh has served many functions in WIB, including working on the special events committee and administrative committee. Some of her accomplishments in the organization include expanding the fundraising initiative, launching the Boston Outreach program, formalizing the comp process, and increasing membership three-fold.
Hailing from sunny Huntington Beach, CA (in the infamous O.C.), Ms. Shieh is currently studying History and Science, where she spends many hours contemplating prescription versus over-the-counter drugs and the tensions between pharmacists, physicians, consumers, the pharmaceutical industry, and the law. She will graduate in 2005 with an honors degree and a certificate in Health Policy and a citation in Mandarin Chinese.
An active member of the Harvard community, Ms. Shieh is also involved with many other organizations on campus and currently serves as the Undergraduate Admissions Council Chair, Asian American Association Co-President and Pleaides Society President. In addition, she is a member of the Harvard-Radcliffe Dance Company and a Prefect.
In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, playing tennis, watching movies, drinking a nice cup of tea, and of course, having great conversation. |
