Get Involved


Both undergraduate and graduate students at Harvard University with an interest in global health are encouraged to get involved with the HCGHR.

Please contact us with a brief statement of interest for further information about applying for any of the following opportunities (all students welcome to apply unless otherwise noted):

  • Staff Writer: contribute articles to the biannual print issue.
  • Online Columnist: contribute regular online posts that will be featured on the website.
  • Staff Interviewer: interview experts in global health for print or online publication (including video).
  • Graduate Adviser: serve on the Graduate Student Board of Advisers, advise staff writers, and help guide the future of the HCGHR (graduate students only).
  • Graphic Designer: take part in designing the print issue.
  • Webmaster: manage the content and design of the HCGHR website.
  • Business Manager: maintain the financial stability of the HCGHR by soliciting funds.
  • One-Time Submission: submit a piece for possible print or online publication (no longer than 1500 words).

Applicants may apply to more than one opportunity at a time; however, please choose those in which you are most interested and qualified.  Please note that we typically accept new applicants at the beginning of the fall and spring semester of each academic year.

Furthermore, all students are welcome to attend campus events hosted or co-sponsored by the HCGHR.  Look for event notifications on our homepage, over email, or on posters around campus.


Faculty and professionals both affiliated and not affiliated with Harvard University are welcome to contribute to and take part in the HCGHR.

  • Interview: be interviewed by HCGHR staff and featured in print or online.
  • Featured Speaker: speak to students and other members of the Harvard global health community at one of the HCGHR’s campus events.
  • Expert and Faculty Adviser: serve on our Board of Expert and Faculty Advisers and help guide the future of the HCGHR (click here for current membership).


Educational institutions and organizations with a mission related to global health are welcome to be featured in and support the HCGHR through a variety of means.
