White Wave Whisper
By Cha Bong Kim, Ph. D.
Translated by Juliana Koo and Jung-Ikk Lee
Stars scatter in solitude
In a solemn sea sky,
White wave whispers with many stories
And silently breaks,
Disappearing against a moss-covered rock.
A few lonely beams
Streak a pattern from the ship’s window.
As they ride on the sea scent,
They permeate into the lonely soul and fuse,
Making the child’s mind transform to snow
And scatter with the wind.
